Best B-U-Y

This weekend we made a visit to Best Buy. Walking up to the entrance Amaya excitedly announces, "We're going in Best B-U-Y!"

"We are?"

"Yep!"

"So what does B-U-Y spell?"

"Nothing! DUH!" in her most sassy matter-of-fact voice.

"It does too! It spells buy, Amaya."

"It does not!"

"Amaya, it spells buy. We're at Best Buy."

"It does not, Mom!" "My V.Reader said b-y spells by!"

I couldn't help but laugh. I then explained to her the different spellings and meanings of the word by, bye, and buy. She accepted my answer then later still mentioned we were at Best B-U-Y.
